The story of Gambini Group began in 1978 from the establishment of the first company, Elle-Gi. In 1989, the group acquired Ceramiche Epoca, switching from ceramic tiles distribution to their production. Then, the company was expanded by the acquisition of Saint-Gobain Parefeuille (France) and Ceramiche Tempra (Italy). In 2002, wishing to open the new markets (the USA market in particular), Gambini Group acquired Manifattura Emiliana. Ultimately, the company gained control over the production facilities of Villeroy & Boch in France to produce here the tiles under MEG trademark.
